They buy one and we give one!

Picture
There's a man we have known for many years that is a doctor who spends much of his time with orphanages in Ecuador. He travels back and forth between the United States and Ecuador. While in the USA he worked as an MD so he can go back down to Ecuador and help with the orphanages . He and his wife are very good people that spend all their energies, time, and money to better the world and make life better and more comfortable for orphans. To date they serve over a dozen orphanages.
For many years my husband and I have wanted to supply these little children who don't have parents with snuggly pajamas, soft blankets, fuzzy stuffed animals, books and anything else that would make their lives more enjoyable. We are told that comfy new pajamas or a soft snuggly blanket can help make a child living in poverty feel safe and secure. We thought there has got to be a way to supply these children with comforting things without having to beg for donations. Then it happened! While watching TV one day I learned about the company called Tom's who donates a pair of shoes to barefoot children in third world countries every time a pair is purchased here in the USA. I recorded it so my husband could watch it that night. While he was watching this story it clicked, he said "That is how a charity needs to be set up, They buy one and we give one". So we decided to start a business that gives each time it sells. The more it grows the more it gives. We don't have to beg people for donations or contributions. People who care will buy, spread the word,  and create a movement! In reality those that buy are the ones that are giving.

You can make a difference!

The story is told of a small boy who was seen on a vast beach covered with starfish. The tide was out and the stranded starfish were dying on the sand. The boy was taking the starfish one at a time and throwing them back into the sea. A passerby, seeing the millions of starfish on the miles of shore, told the young boy to stop. “There are so many starfish,” he said, “there is no way you can really hope to make a difference.” The boy never stopped but as he watched another starfish splash safely into the surf he said, “It made a difference to that one.”
